How much does it cost to hire a party band?

The price of a professional party band depends on a few key factors, which can often be broken down into the following:

• How many musicians are in the band?
• Where is the venue located?
• What’s the event date?
• Is the event taking place in the UK or abroad?

To give you an idea of pricing, we’ve outlined some typical pricing options for our most popular lineups booked.

• 3-piece band – £900 – 1200
• 4-piece band – £1200 – 1500
• 5/6-piece band – £1500 – 2000
• 7-piece band & up – £2500+

What size band will be best for my party?

Our party bands provide various lineups to cater to a wide range of events, from private parties to corporate award ceremonies. If you’re looking to hire for an evening wedding reception, you can go as big or small as the venue allows.

For corporate parties, we suggest hiring a larger band to provide a greater visual and audio impact. Our bands do have minimum space requirements, so the available performance space may dictate what size function band you can hire. If you’re unsure as to what lineup may be suitable, get in touch, and we’ll point you in the right direction.

Can I book a band with both male & female vocalists?

A number of our party bands offer line-ups featuring both male & female vocalists. The combination of two vocalists allows for a wider range of songs to be performed and some opportunities for duets.

Our pop/rock, soul and Motown cover bands often feature lineups with multiple vocalist options, including backing singers.

Do I need to hire a DJ as well?

On top of performing their live sets, our bands offer a range of options for background music during breaks. The most straightforward option is for the band to play a playlist of pre-mixed songs through their PA system, which is left to run by itself. Alternatively, why not hire a DJ for a more interactive service with options to make requests and for the music to be tailored to the evening?

How much space will the band need?

You’ll need to consider two main factors when considering space requirements for your function band:

1. The number of musicians in the band.

2. The band’s equipment (amplification, lighting, stands etc.)

The space will need to be large enough to accommodate both the musicians and their equipment while also giving them ample room to perform and interact with one another. Below are some simple guidelines:

• 3-piece – 3 x 2.5 meters
• 4-5piece – 4 x 2.5 meters
• Larger bands (6 persons +) – 5 x 4 meters

How long will the band play for?

A party band will offer 2 x 60 or 3 x 40 minutes of non-stop dance floor classics as standard. The band will happily work with you if you require a more bespoke schedule, offering both shorter and longer performances.

Will the band bring their own lighting?

As standard, all our party bands include sound equipment and lighting. The band’s lighting is typically sufficient to illuminate the dance floor and the musicians on stage. Depending on the band, options are available to hire additional lighting elements such as uplighters and spotlights.

Will the band travel to my venue?

Our party bands for hire are happy to travel for most events within the UK. If the venue is far from the band’s home location, then overnight accommodation may be required. If your event is taking place in Europe or further afield, then our bands are happy to offer international packages. Our high-end party bands are regularly booked for weddings in France and Italy and corporate events at island resorts in the Seychelles and the Maldives!
