What events are suitable for acoustic musicians and duos?

A live acoustic solo act or duo is the perfect way to draw the line between formal and relaxed at your wedding or party. Covering well-known songs in an understated yet professional way, live music promises to add a unique atmosphere to your wedding reception/ceremony, birthday party or special event.

Can an acoustic singer/guitarist or duo play outside?

Performing outside is fine as long as they have power and adequate shelter available if required. This means you aren’t limited in terms of your live entertainment, no matter where your event is taking place.

For venues without power, we represent a number of acts that provide battery-powered amps to ensure they can be heard.

What equipment do your acts provide?

All PA equipment is provided, which can also be made available to play background music during breaks, so you don’t have to worry about any lulls in the event’s atmosphere. If your venue asks, all of our acts come with Public Liability Insurance and PAT-certified equipment.

How much space do they need, and how long will they play?

An advantage of hiring an acoustic music act is that they don’t require a lot of space or time to set up. In fact, a single performer or duo will need 30 – 45 minutes to set up and very little room in actual performance space (usually around 2m by 2m).

Performance times vary and depend on what part of the day the musician/s are booked for.

An acoustic act is often booked for weddings to cover the ceremony, drinks, reception and the wedding meal – or a mix of all three. For less formal events such as parties or corporate events, expect the acoustic act to offer options to cover a set number of hours. Examples include:

• 1 x 45 or 60-minute set
• 2 x 45-minute sets over a 2/2.5 hour period
• 3 x 45-minute sets over a 3/4 hour period

Can I pick what songs they sing/perform?

Our acoustic cover bands perform a range of styles, including the most popular songs from the last 50 years. Once your booking has been made, you’ll be welcome to pick your favourite songs from the artist’s repertoire, allowing them to build their set around your tastes.
